sjöhäxan A shroud of melancholy and earnest struggle emanates from this album, each individual track unfolding a journey down rarely trodden paths of forest and valley. There is a level of uncertainty and fear that peaks in the second track, and slowly unravels, ending in a note of mystery. Definitely an album I will return to. Favorite track: Forest Shrine II.
The Owl / Morbid Beauty

The Owl / Morbid Beauty I am more here for the black metal rather than the ambient / dungeon / synth stuff, hence the favourite track choice, but the non-black metal sounds are handled really brilliantly. They really transport you away into other realms, some of the finer DS stuff I've heard. Favorite track: Forest Shrine II.

Kaptain Carbon With equal parts haze and magic, Forest Shrine presents reflections that are broken into musical chapters. The massive survey of the artist that this compilation presents with each part of its story makes Forest Memories feel ancient and something out of a legend. This compilation has been many people's introduction to this project and I feel it is the perfect place to start. Favorite track: Forest Shrine II.

Drahlark Absolutely amazing!, the atmosphere on some part of the Forest Shrine II reminds me of Dunkelheit by Burzum for some reason, but it is amazing! Favorite track: Forest Shrine II.

wizard_tower A phenomenal work of synth. This album provides both a dark and powerful atmosphere as heard in track II along with melodic and triumphant sounds as heard in tracks VI and VII. Thus, the entire album is like an epic journey, setting up a tragic and brooding mood, then slowly unveiling a heroic outcome. Favorite track: Forest Shrine II.
